There’s been a lot of talk about proposed rental restrictions and regulations in the city of Seattle, such as limiting short-term rentals (AKA AirBnB), higher taxes for landlords, policy changes to how renters are vetted, etc.  We are not sure yet how many of these measures will pass the city council unchallenged – or when – but we have been getting a lot of questions and even more commenting/venting about these proposals.  Unsurprisingly, our landlord clients are not in favor of these new measures, nor are most of our clients who already own a primary residence that they would like to have the option of renting out in whole or part in the future.  The devil’s in the details and there are a lot of questions about all of these policy changes that will need to be hammered out.
