Local news stories about the increasing number of homeless people in the region have highlighted increasing frustrations with the issue. From advocates who say there aren’t enough shelters and services to business owners who feel negatively impacted by their store’s proximity to camps and shelters, there are a lot of varying opinions about the issue and its remedies.
One thing is clear, though. The issue is front and center and will require a concerted effort and a direct response & cooperation from each city and county. Paul Allen’s recent $1M donation will provide some more housing and relief, but we’re still a long way from achieving long-term solution
