If your garbage disposal is stuck, try this trick before you call the plumber. Most garbage disposals come with a “key” or a wrench, which may have been taped to the side of your disposal when it was installed. Take the key and stick it into the opening at the bottom of the disposal (under your cabinet…not inside of the disposal) and give the unit a few turns. More often than not, your disposal should be back in action.
